There was reference to the last Saxon King - king Harold, and perhaps King Alfred was mentioned in passing, but it seems English primary school history lessons treat the Saxon kings somewhat harshly. What do others think?

Absolutely, Annie! I agree. Anyone who has started a business knows that it is both scary and exciting. My only point was, imagine how much more scary and exciting it must have been for Lewis & Clark when they set out on their adventure. They had very little idea what to expect as they entered "the wilderness" other than that it could cost them their lives.

When I'm feeling a bit of trepidation about starting a business or a new project, I think about what my grandfather went through in his life. At the age of 16, my grandfather left his native Romania to come to the USA. He had no money and couldn't speak the language. Even so, he was able to build a good and successful life for himself and his family. By comparison, starting a business doesn't seem so bad.

I guess it's just a matter of perspective.

Thanks, as always, for your thoughts, Lou! I think they key is that when we're starting a business or writing a book we're doing something new TO US. That's definitely exhilirating and frightening! And it's also what will make us grow...and push us toward success. Yeah?

I lived in St. Louis for 5 years and never went up in the arch. How embarrassing.

I'm a fan of Lewis & Clark. When we start a business or write a book, we are doing something that many others have done before us (although maybe not in the same way). For Lewis & Clark, they were setting off on a journey that had never been done before. It must have been exhilirating and frightening all at the same time.

Thanks, Annie!
