Buck up and make the decision. Like, NOW…

by ANNIE on June 3, 2010

We all have folks in business that we admire. We look at their success, we look at their list of accomplishments, we look at their current state and wish we had it. Even just a piece of it.

We CAN have it, you know. Because those successes? They all started somewhere. They all made the decision, at some point in the past, to take action. Your success, just like theirs, lies within your ability to decide to take a step.

Do it. Like, right now. How will you ever know if you don’t?

  • I had the opportunity several years ago to meet a really successful guy. He owns a well known US corporation and has been on the Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest people in the world for several years. We met several times and he gave me the same advice you are providing in this video.

At the time, it was hard for me to grasp what he was saying. He owned a huge corporation and was extremely wealthy, but he was telling me I should start a small business by investing what little money I had at the time. I didn't want a small business. I wanted what he had.

What I understand now is that he didn't go from young, ambitious guy to extremely wealthy, successful guy overnight. He started out in the same place I started and did one thing. That one thing led to another thing and then another thing. Meanwhile, I was stuck at the starting line trying to figure out how to get to the finish rather than just taking my first step.

The magic is in the action and the action always starts with the first step (followed by the next step).
  • Wonderfully said, Lou. :)
  • Very motivational video. It sounds simple, but this is such great advice. Your mindset it vital to making things happen. Keep up the great work and I'll be sure to keep reading!
  • Nicholas! It's always the simplest of advice (and the simplest of actions) that makes all the difference. Don't you think? I've always thought life was fascinating in that sense. If it's complicated, you're doing it wrong.

Great point Annie. I've been using the catch phrase "makin it happen" for years, and very few people actually understand it....but don't worry, because the ones who do...REALLY get it

Videos look great, keep them coming!
  • Ahh, gotta love those around you that never truly "get" what you're doing. :) Maaaaakin it happen. Love it!
  • Hi Annie! Great video. You are right on! I aside from Vemma I have an online biz helping women over 50 get overcome the obstacles that slow us down starting internet businesses. We don't have the tech or internet experience younger people do and it is more intimidating for us and a bit harder to understand which take a tole on our confidence to take action. That's what I help them overcome, by breaking the steps down into simplified bite-size pieces. Just heard about your biz on the Vemma call and am thrilled for you! Loving it!
  • Thank you, ma'am, for stopping by.
  • Wow Annie you are such a motivator!

Thanks for this type of content as it truly is a kick in the butt for many of us!

Great post. A close friend of mind isnt real bright but they get up and do things with no fear---- and usually succeed!

    PS a tripod would nice!
  • Yeah, about the tripod, I was actually holding the tripod attached to the camera while taping...tripod-location problems. Sorry if the movement was annoying. It's about the content, right David! :) Thank you so much for stopping by my site!
  • I wrote something like that in my blog couple of weeks ago. There's only few things that are out of our control, everything is up to us, everything is possible. We just need to take action.

    Right on, Mrs. Sorensen!

  • Thanks, as always, for all of your support, Milind!
